Day 1 of Spring break

Day one of Spring Break April 2nd

I never had a conversation that lasted for more than 3 minutes with my dad.
I just don’t really talk to him because I hardly have anything to say, and because if I say something, he tends to keep the answers short with no follow up questions. It’s just how it is in my family..
And if he does have something important to say, he always tells mother first and tells her to tell me. So my mum is like the intermediate person. Don’t ask me why my father doesn’t talk straight to me. I’ve been trying to answer that question for the past 16 years.
So since my father uses my mum to tell me, I also use mum to tell father. Lol.  Last week, I told my mum that I want tennis lessons during spring break so I won’t be embarrassed to could ask someone out to play  tennis with me. She liked the idea and told dad. This morning, mom told me that dad said “There is no point playing tennis without working out. Tell Yejun that I won’t give her tennis lessons but will get her a trainer who will work out with her three days a week. Tell her that if you don’t have the strength, you can’t play tennis.” Then in a sec, I found myself, yeonjun and my mum driving to our gym.
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I DON’T WANT TO WORK OUT BECAUSE WHAT IF I END UP LOOKING LIKE A FEMALE HULK?
hey, I won't mind being a hulk if I had those breasts.... lol  sorry. I had to. it's this Korea thing.
ALL BULKY AND NOT FEMINE LOOKING. -.-
Jokes. Jokes.
My trainers’ name is Gadi… I think. Well, that’s how you pronounce it. First, I thought it was Ganhdi. I nearly smirked but managed to stop myself. My first conversation with him went like this.

Gadi: What is your name?
Me: Lee…
Gadi: Oh, that’s my daughters’ name too!
Me: Oh cool! Haha
Gadi: So our baby was born and I asked my wife what her name should be. Then she said ‘what about Lee?’ so I said ‘okay, her name is Lee.’ Lee means me in Hebrew
Me: Oh, like ani?
Gadi: Yeah haha.
Me: Well, my real name is Yejun but it’s hard to pronounce so call me Lee.
Gadi: Isn’t your fathers’ name also Lee? (looking puzzled)
Me: Um… yeah… basically everyone in my family tells their name is Lee except my mum. Call her Bhan. hahh
Ga di: haha okay then warm yourself by doing 5 minutes of that, Lee (pointing to a bicycle looking machine)
Me: Okay

Not surprisingly, I nearly choked from trying to stop laughing when I was doing the bicycle machine thingy. Basically, the gym background music was this female solo artist. But on the screen of my machine thingy, which has a TV screen attached to it, was showing a music video of a guy singing on(in?)mute. So  the screen was showing a guy singing which I couldn’t hear because it was on mute, was overlapped by the female voice of the gym background music.  LDSJFLDSKFJSLDFKj sorry if you still don’t understand what my situation was. Adjfalk;dsfja hate English. It’s so hard. I kept on swallowing my laugh because then what would my trainer think of me? This Asian girl laughing while exercising?…

After 5 minutes, trying to make myself stare at the sea rather than the screen, did all these types of exercises. I sweated so much… more than running the mile! :D Ga Di said it’s a good sign. There were awkward moments like when he pushed down my abs but a bit down from the abs…to keep my abs? still while doing crunches. Also when he said “Between your legs” and I was like “huh? What’s between the legs” but turns out he said “look between your legs” which makes sense because I was doing the crunches..again… Crunches you damn exercise awkward maker….. lol

After an hour, I was totally exhausted and had no energy what-so-ever, to play 15 minutes of tennis with mum. I took a shower and went to the new Poleg Ha-Sharon(?) mall to do stuff on my new glasses!!!!

YES. I KNOW, I FINALLY GOT NEW GLASSES!!!!!
YAYAYAYAYYAAYAYAYAY CAN’T WAIT FOR 5 DAYS TO PAST BECAUSE THEN I WILL GET THEM BACK :D

I think my mum got fed up of me and decided to buy me one after I kept on excusing that my glasses are too small compared to my gigantic face. I kept on mentioning that I was in 7th grade when I made the frame, and that it’s going to make my face shape oval because it squishes my face horizontally. Hahahahahah

For those who don’t know, prices of eye wear are extremely cheap in Korea because like 70% of the Korean population wears glasses. So it costs like at most 300NIS for frame and the lenses. But it cost me 500NIS which nearly made my mother curse my poor eye sight. It made me sad L because I also have no idea why my eye is so… bad… and… old-ish… (????) My poor eye sight is very costly. I have to change 600NIS contact lenses every year, have to buy contact lense solution every 6 months, which costs 80NIS, and have to take eye examination every 6 months, which costs 150NIS. Oh, another few hundred shekels for special goggles and sunglasses.

During dinner, my dad repeated how playing tennis and exercising your strength is very different from each other and that I will improve over time.
Tomorrow, I need to run to school and run the mile.
It’s my goal to record 8:25
My present record is like 9:40
I am pleased with myself today :D
