Diary of 30th

Wow, it's already the end of 2012. T_T
I wish I had something to write about, wait, I do have something to write about!

decorating our class...

yeah, our christmas spirits are pretty low.. lol

our school is Hugeee

I wrote cards to few of by friends

with bunch of stickers too :D

I don't know how to rotate... this but I drew myself with a dress

So yeah, as you know, Koreans are super impassive.
We go to school on Christmas Eve.
And not even the teachers say 'Merry Christmas' to us.
I mean, no one even says that word outside the church. *sigh*

So when I gave the cards out to those I care and love, they gasped and told me they never received a card for christmas.
oh god.

But hey! Tomorrow our school starts its winter vacation!
and ends on Feb 1st.
Meaning, we literally have ONE MONTH OF WINTER VACATION. WHICH IS THE LONGEST VACATION IN KOREA.

and I already got my vacation planned ahead.
from 9am-5:30pm I go to English Institute to study the SATs
Everyday of the week except on Sundays.

YAY!

Diary of 11th

I’m taking my first official TOEFL test next Saturday. Ugh, so excited.
I took a mock test like two months ago, and received a 95.
A three digit 115 is what I desperately need L
Anyways, I am so tired!
I guess light sleeping for 30 minutes didn’t help relieving stress… Now, my eyes just close whatever I do; listening to the TOEFL listening section, memorizing SAT vocabularies, eating dinner, even as I am writing this post! Lol
Just this morning, my friend Rin came out from her house to see a guy waiting by her front door.
According to Jane, she has no idea who it is. But he gave her a rose.
Lol
Lol
Well a fake rose.
But that’s not what I am laughing at.
I just find it funny and creepy how this random guy Jane has no idea of, comes up and gives a rose without a word. Jane said that he looked coy. Which makes it more ‘awwww
Ugh, as a student who attends to a girls only school, we are super sensitive about boys. Lol
(it feels like I am back to 6th grade or something lol)
Our class all gave that ‘death stare’ to Rin because we were obviously jealous of her. Lol
I swear, she has this… this… um.. Guy Blessing.
When she told me that she never spent Christmas alone, I wanted to punch her.
Hahahhahah I might have punched her. Not that hard though J
So there she was, all moody and shit how she broke up with the last one few months ago just a month till Christmas, she finally decided to move on.
That leads to last Saturday, when she met this guy introduced by her friend Kim. Jane spent few hours with Ben, who is Kim’s boyfriend’s friend. (Does that make sense?!)
Jane didn’t admit, but from how she described her day with him, I thought she liked Kim.
But my predictions were wrong again. (All the time, when I make a prediction or foreshadow an event, I am always wrong.)
I don’t know much about dating as much as her because she spent like… 95% of her life with a guy, but she said they didn’t click.
How the f=ck am I supposed to understand that. Lol
I don’t even know how ‘clicking’ feels like lol
But what I don’t understand more, is the way she said ‘let’s not keep in contact.’
She sent a text message,
‘Hey, I think it’s better for us if we reorganize our relationship’
‘Reorganize

Anyhow, I ended up talking about my friend Rin instead of my life.
I don’t have much to talk about my ‘life’ because it’s so… dull and tenuous and so not enthralling.
I wish I’ve got something to say… but ugh.
It’s not like I have much interest in guys anyway.
Oh right, lol
Maya got into Princeton??!?!?!?!?!
 How did that happen??????

oh oh hey Maya, if you are seeing this, which is like 0.001% likely, I am happy for you. .

How everything is rollin'

Guys! @_@ well, I don't know who reads my blog anymore, so I guess, Hey!

Gah, my life is pretty 'aberrant' from typical Koreans here.
Instead of studying my school work and getting ready for the up coming finals, I am memorizing SAT vocabs ceaselessly.

It astonishes me every time how many words are in the English language.
English apparently has the most vocabs out of all languages in this planet. Ewly.
lol I made this word up. Ewly. It doesn't mean anything...

just in case you people forgot my face. !?

See what I am going through!?!! but I managed to memorize 1/3

I painted my nail in silver but one of my friends said it looked like aluminum foil color...;;;; which I kinda agree. and understand. lol

I WANT AHAVAAAA

decks of card... everywhere in the house waiting for me to reach lol

So far, just in this month, I memorized more than 700 words. I still have a mountain to go since there's 1000 more eagerly waiting for me to handle.

Photos explain pretty well. lol

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

ugh. I am not going to America for college. Rather, I am studying SAT for a Korean university.

It's so hard to get a high scoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Video of Kunggi Girls' High School

Hi! How are you all?
I've always wanted to upload a video of my school because pictures are not enough to describe them.

It's not exactly the full view of my school because I forgot to record them. I especially wanted to record our teachers who stands at the school gate and checks for any students who they think are aberrant. This usually creates abrasive mornings for teachers, but I am sure they are used to it. If you are lucky, a student with a short skirt could get away if that day's teachers are a bit acquiesce about it. But unfortunately, that's most unlikely.

If you get called on, they give you penalty points. If you accumulate more than 10, you'll have to face your teachers with your parents and if you get more than like 20, you get kicked out  from school. Don't be surprised, it's like this in all Korean High schools. Well public high schools I guess.

I went to my first SAT Hagwon... it was fine until I realized I had to memorize more than 30 vocabularies every 4 days.. :P

Sunday, October 21, 2012

omg wow, this is culture shock.

If I get married, I want to marry a french guy because I thinkk they are sexy.
Now, the reason why I am talking about this is because I am learning French to Reussire le Delf A2 and this.... sentence is in my book.

Un soir, Gabriel invite Mathilde chex lui. Il l'embrasse, ils s'embrassent.
So this part, I was thinking. 'omg. you met this guy one day ago. don't tell me you are going to sleep with him. Tell me you are going to just eat dinner.'

and then the bomb.

puis ils passent la nuit ensemble, ils font l'amour
man...

(T_T)

I don't know why but it was interesting to have it in a text book.....
weird.

Life is so stressful here because I know I won't be able to enroll at an University with my current grade. I mean, I love my class and school... but it's all just stressful.

But it makes me sad when ever I realize I have only two more years in High school : /

mother of Monopoly.

Two days ago, our family went to the mall to celebrate my 9 year old sister for reading 50 books in one month. There were shelfs full of toys everywhere.
From there, Yeonjun chose Monopoly, the world famous ever lasting game.
At that time, I totally forgot how never ending that damn game was. So I told her to buy it. Well, I strongly agreed with her to buy it...because YOU NOW PLAY WITH A CREDIT CARD NOT THE REAL PAPER MONEYYYY

I was totally over excited? about the credit card....lol

omg
I remember when I was in Australia playing monopoly with Dominique, she's a girl, and never ending it because we would always eat lunch in the middle and play another game outdoors afterwards. lol

but omg omg
YOU GUYS MUST HAVE PLAYED MONOPOLY RIGHT????
IT'S like a must-play...
OMG AND TO SEE ELECTRONIC BANKING...
THEN OMG NO BANKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You dont know how... old I felt when I saw it...
I mean, i'm only 17 to say, "when I was young, I used to play with paper money."
lol.

anyways, *sigh*
I spent the past two days playing this game, which was really fun for me when I was young, with my sister for ... a total of 8 hours. no... more than ... 8.

OMFG.
I think I am going to puke if my sister suggests to play it again.
but I am sure she will do.... today....

and and and, I just did an internet search and
WOWOWOWOOWOWOWOW

I knew about the simpson monopoly, but

MONOPOLY HERE & NOW WORLD EDITION

THIS . IS. AWESEOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

already mid term finals~~

omg, i havn't written for such such such a long time it feels weird to write!
I dont have a clear reason for it, but most likely cause I don't go online often as I used to in Israel.
Life is pretty busy here especially because it's my favourite mid term final season~~ omg I love it so much!

It's funny how my school started second semester only this August, and is already giving us finals. : /
But it's better that way because since we didn't learn much, our test range (?) is relatively small to other schools which takes it about two weeks later than our school.

Anyhow, um Last friday, I took English and Family Life tests...
In English, we had 20minutes for the listening part and 30 minutes for the multiple choice questions.
I was totally stunned when I missed the first question due to my lack of understanding Korean!
I mean like... I had no idea what the question was...so I wanted to guess.. but you had to choose two answers from 5 chooses which totally narrowed the possibility of getting right.

After the listening part, I gasped as I looked up the time.. We had 30 minutes to answer 32questions.
Now, All questions had a long passage of like 8 sentences. There literally was no time for anyone, not even for this Girl who lived abroad and studied at an England school for five years, to read the whole passage and finish all questions in time.

If it wasn't for the memorization I spent hours on, I wouldn't have finished the test. No way I could have.
I was told by my great friend that memorizing all the handouts teachers gaveout was the Only Golden Key to finish finals in my school.

AAAAAAAAAAh.
Although I answered all the questions by just reading the first sentence and realizing what the paragraph was about, I was totally running out of time I rushed all the questions.
I swear, my hand was shaking like parkinson's disease and sweating like hell during the whole English test.
Now imagine me marking my OMR card in that situation.
omr card is like this. you have five choices and got to color in(?) one of those tiny circles without going off the  outline thingy

it was fucking ridiculous.
image

On the other hand, Family life test was okay. We had 25minutes to answer 20 questions.
ho ho ho. no hard at all.
-.-

but ironically enough, I finished 4minutes before the bell and handed in again, with a sweaty palm.

In Korea, right now is Sunday night near mid night. Tomorrow, I am taking Science and Moral/Ethics...? (if you understand..)
you know, I like science. I am learning DNAs and how the Universe started and all about planets in our solar system.
but ugh, Moral... we learn about how to be a good citizen and how governments work and how we should respect others.. blah blah blah. Since it's not an important subject, I decided not to study.
I'm pretty sure my parents are too because they know 98 percent of Koreans don't study Morals..
(I feel so bad for my Moral subject teacher but this is the reality)

I needed a break from all so I decided to write a blog post.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I am suddenly craving for Krisphy Creme with a Latte.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

If Japan didn't exist

In Korea, we learn Korean History everyday. That made me think how much thinner our textbook would be if Japan didn't exist at all. Seriously, Japan appears in EVERY DAMN PAGE IN our history textbook. It's fucking annoying and just makes everyone in our class get emotional toward Japan.
Well yeah, China also appears often as Japan but they actually were nice to us. They didn't make us sign a trade treaty with bunch of unfair rules, or attack us at random times and threaten us to pay fines, or colonize us for more than 30 years.

On the other hand, I learned how weak our nation was and how unaware we were to the international trend/ community. I mean, a Hermit Kingdom in the late 19th century? Gah, that was when the whole globe was inventing new machines and when everyone was doing financially great!

I think Korea was just too scared to go outside and meet foreigners.
If that.. makes sense?
lol

video of my way to home from church

hai.
gonna show you some videos with crappy sound and visuals. lol
I recorded on my awesome SKY phone with Android system.
the video is literally, "to home back from church at 11ish on a sunday morning"
as you can see from my house, that I didn't exactly clean and never that disorganized except that moment, OUT SHIPMENT DIDN'T ARRIVE YET. ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEM SOMETHING LIKE, I DONT KNOW, TWO MONTHS.

it took 4 months for our shipment to arrive in Israel from Seoul cause it meet a hurricane lollllllllllll
omg it was the funnyist thing ever, when I was in 8th grade band class,
me: um Mr. Harvey, my cello won't be arriving for another month because it met a hurricane...
Teacher: oh.. (wide eyes) okay then.. it's fine it's okay.

First Week of Korea

Hello everyone, it's about time for me to write a post about Korea. It has been a hectic week.

Saturday: The moment our plan landed in Korea at 3:04pm in Korea, my mother turned around and whispered to my ear, "Welcome to Hell,". The 10 hour flight was scary as hell too because of the turbulence. We experienced like 20 of them at the last 3 hours. Thanks to that, I couldn't sleep relaxed and had to read the safety information paper thing5 times. I memorized it. You never Know what could happen.
When I arrived to my uncle's house, I immediately fell asleep for 5 hours. I missed dinner. And had to go through the torture of not being able to sleep until 3am.

Sunday: I didn't do anything. I stayed home and played with my uncle's dog. SUCH A CUTIE.

Monday: So right now, I live in Il-San. It's outside Seoul (as you can kinda see by the orange outline) but its very developed. There's like everything in this town. But I have to live in Gangnam because of my dad's office and because Gangnam is best known in Korea for its educational academies and schools : /. I can't believe I have to be one of those people in Korea to live at Gangnam, the heart of all education. EEEks.
Anyway, we left home early and headed to the phone shop. I was totally blown away by the number of phone stores. I swear, I am not lying, there is a shop every street you walk into. I was astonished again when the seller told me they only sell Smart phones.
imageimage
I WANTED A FILP PHONE. NO NO NO NO THIS CANT BE HAPPENING.

So I bought this Vega phone

It's okay..
I then went to my old town in Gangnam by bus and visited two future high schools I am considering to attend. They are both girls only high schools.. and are well known. But I want to attend a coed school.
Unfortunately, to be accepted to those schools, I have to hand in my papers. But since I am currently living out side Gangnam, I can't apply to them

_________-this post was really like three months ago

our first school festival thingy

yo, our class sang Dancing Queen for our chorus competition.
Although we didn't win an award, we had so much fun singing and talking nonsense and shit.
Was such a good experience to have since I don't sing for fun or anything. Not even in the shower.
We had to practise like 3 weeks in advance, had to stay after school for 3 hours or less everyday or so, which created arguments among us, but you know, we still love each other no matter what happens.
Thunderbirds are…high?

I hate Japan

oh my fucking god, I hate Japan. The GOD DAMN COUNTRY
Okay, there is this island in the coast of the East Sea called Dokdo.

this tiny tiny two island is what Korea and Japan are fighting about.
It's worth fighting because there are natural resources stored under the rocks.
Last Thursday, the Korean president Lee Myung-bak visited Dokdo.

Then the Japanese filed a court case about our president visiting 'their' land.
http://english.hani.co.kr/arti/english_edition/e_international/546890.html
I'm sorry, but this is total bull shit.

I hate hate Japan and pretty sure 99% of all Koreans also do.
If they didn't exist, our Korean history text book would be half of what it is now. I mean, wasn't the 30 years of annexation enough?

now the second issue, Korea won a medal for the first time in Soccer at the Olympics. We got Bronze!!!
AND THE BEST PART IS THAT WE WON JAPAN BY 2:0 AT THE BRONZE MEDAL GAME.

After the game, while our team was going wild and crazy, someone from the crowd throw a poster size paper that was written "Dokdo is Korean territory."
so  Park Jong-woo took the poster and ran around the field
S Korean soccer player barred from medal ceremony over political message
And then the Japanese filed another court.

LONDON —
A South Korean soccer player who held up a sign with a political message after a victory over Japan did not get a bronze Sunday when the Olympic medals were handed out in a ceremony to the rest of his team.

Midfielder Park Jong-woo is under investigation by the IOC and football’s governing body, FIFA, for displaying the sign with a slogan supporting South Korean sovereignty over disputed islets that are claimed by both his country and Japan. The largely uninhabited islets are called Dokdo by South Koreans and Takeshima by Japanese.

The IOC and FIFA have statutes that prohibit political statements by athletes and players. Olympic officials had asked the South Korean Olympic Committee to take action against Park and that he not be present at the ceremony. -JT
This all started because of Japan. Because of that, he wasn't able to get a medal at the ceremony.
It's just ridiculous.
Third, this is the clip.
<embed src='http://afbbs.afreeca.com:8080/player/Player.swf?idx=24916' wmode='transparent' width='400'
           height='323' allowScriptAccess='always' name='Player' id='Player' allowFullScreen='true' type='application/x-shockwave-flash'/>
hope it works.
If it doesn't okay this is what. Park was declared as the winner of quarter final because all three judges held up the blue flag, Korea. Then, there was this huge 'boo' sound from the Japanese crowd. The judges, who apparently felt the crowd is part of the judging was called in by this Barcos guy and then they went back to their position, they all held up the white flag, declaring the Japanese guy won.
But you know, I learned that these things happen because Korea is less known than Japan.
And Japan has more power than Korea. So I am waiting for Japan to sink under the waters in the next decades. I hope Japan gets another earthquake and crash and just sink under the ocean and die.
I am sorry, but since the Dokdo, my feelings toward Japan just got worse.
